This week I have decided to answer one question I am sure many people have. What is that strange feeling in the pit of your stomach when you are sad? The Sad Stomach Monster (SSM) is the cause. Everyone has an SSM living in them, they live off of the food being digested in your stomach. They range in appearance depending on how your diet is. The SSM is closely connected to your emotions at all times. When you are happy they are undetectable. However when you begin to feel sad, the SSM will begin to cry; it is the tears reacting to your stomach acids that cause that strange feeling in your stomach. So now that you know, stay happy , and try not to make your SSM cry.

TV On The Radio is, as I have previously mentioned, one of my favorite bands making music. Heroes is one of my favorite David Bowie songs. So TV On The Radio covering Heroes is like candy for my ears (candy is obviously my go to metaphor). Seriously, what more can I say? Featuring the writing talents of Brian Eno and, of course, Bowie, Heroes has a wonderful, dreamy quality to it that works really well with the talents of TVOTR. It’s always nice to hear bands cover the songs of the artists that influence them, and that’s just what’s happening here.

I have yet to really sit down and check out Mad Men, but my sister’s super into it. She thinks it’s swell, neat-o, the bee knees! Obviously, I know a lot about the early 1960’s and the way they talked. Anyways, even if you’re not into the show, check out this cool site where you can Mad Men yourself, cartoon style. It sure is the cat’s pajamas (wow, I’m the worst)!

Hey, there’s a new Jay-Z track making the rounds! I saw him last summer, and he put on a great show. I was kicked in the face multiple times, but hey, worth it. Sadly, this new track is not getting me very excited for his September release of Blueprint 3. I think it’s mostly due to Rihanna’s droning, lackluster vocals. Kanye’s use of the increasingly tired “no homo” is also a little grating, but at least he’s auto tune free! Progress (I guess?) Anyways, instead of only posting the new track I’m gonna double whammy y’all and post an older track featuring Santigold, because she’s a Lolla artist and I guess I should try to stick to my word (plus it’s just a better song). Enjoy!
